There’s a new blog!!!

29 Nov

Simply Sanctified will no longer be updated. I became a wifey to “the man” and have started a new life – so with that comes a new blog! I’ll be posting frequently and hope to reconnect with many of you and be a new friend to many more!

Feel free to check out the new blog “Wowed with Wonder” – the blessings, joys, and happenings in the life of the Abshers! And don’t forget to bookmark the site when you stop by!

Hope to see you there!

I’m Getting Married!

30 Jul

I didn’t realize that it’s been almost one year since my last post but life has certain brought its exciting twists and turns these past months! I wanted to write a new post and this is BIG news and I am super thrilled and blessed!

I will be getting married November 1st, 2014 to a kind and godly man who makes me smile and laugh and brings out the best in me! To love and to be loved is a beautiful thing! There is so much I can share for sure but if you would like to see pictures and read our “Once Upon a Time” story of how we met, please visit our wedding website:

Needless to say, I am very busy as I anticipate my bridal shower, wedding, and life together with the man I hold so dear to my heart so I know for a fact that I probably won’t be blogging much in the next couple of months. But I wanted to be sure to let you, my dear readers, know that God has been so good and has filled my heart with a new song! He has given me one of my heart’s desires….that of belonging to a kind and godly man who will soon be my husband!

John and I would appreciate your prayers as we begin this new journey together. We know for a fact that there will be trials and hardships along the way as we live in a fallen world; but with God’s grace and keeping our focus on Him, true love can make it through anything!

Perhaps when life slows down a bit, I will try to come back to blogging more regularly! So check back but until then, may the Lord bless you abundantly!

Soli Deo Gloria!

…and she’s back!

To say the least…..I’ve taken quite the sabbatical – actually it’s been 4 months! I can’t believe it! Well, I’m going to make a teeny attempt to start it back up again. I can’t promise how often I’ll post but hopefully it will be more frequently than every four months! 😉

Besides the busyness of life between home, work, and church, here’s a little bit of what’s happened these past months:

Extremely blessed to have ministered in the country of Nicaragua with an awesome team of medical professionals and servants of the Lord!

Fall Festival

29 Oct

Last week after our morning worship service, our church family had a blast of a good time between fellowship amongst believers, crazy games, crisp fresh autumn air, toasted marshmallows over an open fire, warm soups, and fresh pies. It was the Fall Festival and I believe the young and old had a precious time. It ended all too soon but hearts were encouraged, bellies were filled, and kids left with bigger smiles on their faces!

Kids had a blast fishing for little trinkets and toys

There were even wheelbarrow rides!

Wow – I feel ashamed! What kind of blogger am I? It’s been just about 3 months since I’ve posted last. Perhaps, I can say I’ve taken a bit of a sabbatical. That sounds like a good excuse! 😉

Seriously, life has been busy and wonderful and has taken on a bunch of twists and turns. Some weeks I look back and wonder where my days went! I will admit that I’ve enjoyed my ‘blog breather’ and may still continue to ‘lay low’ for a bit. But I did want you all to know that I am doing well – actually better than well. The summer has flown by and I can’t really believe it’s September but I’m looking forward to what the fall season will bring.

So, please don’t think I’ve fallen off the face of the earth – I haven’t! I’ve just been taking my days and enjoying the opportunities God has given, learning to completely trust Him in areas when I can’t see the way, growing more in love with Jesus and the wonderful family and friends He has put in my life, and still living life on the edge!

Here’s a few pictures of what’s been happening until my next post – hopefully it won’t be three months from now!

Wishing you all of God’s goodness and blessings!

…..they have to be the cutest niece and nephew ever! 😉

Anna celebrated her 2nd birthday

Waiting patiently for her gifts – haha!

Our little man continues to grow and grow and get cuter and cuter by the day!

I hiked Stone Mountain – YAY!!!

Got to spend time in Georgia with my sweet cousin

Sam and Melissa bought their first home! So happy for them!

My parents looking as wonderful as ever 🙂

….along with the whole family!

Got to do a bit of sight-seeing downtown Philly – what a blast!

….and enjoyed a milkshake at the renowned ‘Franklin Fountain’

…..and yes, still smiling and probably will continue to for a very long time! It’s been a great summer! 🙂

Ladies Church Banquet

6 Jun

This past weekend, we were privileged to have Mr. and Mrs. John Marshall join us for our Ladies Banquet on Saturday and our worship service on Sunday morning. Saturday was a blessed time of teaching, specials, games, food, and fellowship! It’s always encouraging to be with like-minded believers and have a time of seeking after God! Sunday was powerful with a dynamic revival message, church fellowship meal, nursing home ministry – and even more fellowship!

Mom did an amazing job hosting the service and banquet

I love singing with my sisters-in-law!

The guys did a great job preparing for and serving dinner to the ladies

Blessed to enjoy some good quality fellowship with Jessica Marshall!

…..and of course, a pic of our sweet blue-eyed Anna!
