Family and Friends

5 Nov

On the 21st of October, we had left Stephen in New York with some dear friends as he wanted to help with some work that needed to be done there. Well, Friday morning was the planned date to pick him up!

First off, though, mom and I celebrated dad’s birthday. It was a little unusual not having the boys there – but we enjoyed giving him our gifts and cards! My father is such an amazing man who loves the Lord with all of his heart and truly desires to please Him! He has a great love for his family that is shown by his care, protection, kindness, affection, generosity, and the list could go on and on! I am quite honored to have such a wonderful man in my life!

Before the morning got away, we quickly packed our bags and headed to NY to pick up Stephen. We arrived in the mid-afternoon and enjoyed the fellowship of the Barkowski family. They had lovingly prepared a wonderful meal and dessert – making the day special for us all but especially dad!

In the evening around 8:00 pm, the guys and girls decided that miniature golf would be fun! It was freezing out; but we had a blast laughing, putting, talking, and yes, even being silly until about 10:30 when we realized we were beat and chilled to the bone (at least I was!).

Here’s a group shot:
(L. to R. Allison, David, me, Stephen, Elisabeth, Bradley)
Only some were being silly!
The girls!

Saturday, before making the 4 1/2 hour trip home, the ladies of the Smith, Barkowski, and Cammilleri household decided to make a quick trip to Christopher & Banks for their big 40% off sale. Well, the quick trip wasn’t so quick as there were what seemed to be a ton of shoppers. The lines were almost out the door! After standing in line to check out for about 45 minutes, I walked out a very happy shopper! Here’s a few of us girls with our packages!

Then there was show and tell!

And of course, we can always learn more shopping tips from the more experienced!
Here’s Aunt Alice sharing a few things with us! Haha!

I just had to include this pic. It’s just too adorable! Someone got into the chocolate batter!

To say the least, we all had a fabulous time this weekend! Fun memories were made and great fellowship was enjoyed! Praise the Lord for family and friends!
