Well, we finally made it! What a long but wonderful trip. We headed out early on Friday morning and were on the road for 19 hours! I’m surprised that I made it – haha – but it was a blessed trip and our group is so much fun. We had a good time listening to music, telling stories, playing catch-phrase, and enjoying the scenery even as we sat in silence. Sat. we hit the road early again and traveled till 10:30 pacific time. It was a grand moment entering the California border. After all, our whole trip was about 34 hours! A few cheers were exclaimed and I think we sighed a breath of relief !
We travelled thru Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, and Nevada before crossing into California. I have never seen so much barren land in my life – it was amazing to see hundreds of miles without any civilization in sight! But the scenery, especially going through Nevada, was gorgeous!
We settled into our hotel in Sacramento on Sunday evening and had a full day of setup on Monday and have been keeping busy these past two days. There are about 980 people registered for this conference. I’ve been having a great time selling books, meeting new people, helping with odds and ends, and living in the joy of California living with all the sunshine and warmth!
Here’s a few pictures with more to come soon!
